Week 6 Recap: Comebacks and Dominant Performances Headline Action
CONOVER, NC – The National Arena League completed another competitive weekend of action in Week 5 of the 2026 regular season, with three matchups highlighting late-game swings, strong offensive production, and a dominant home performance in Colorado.
The Southwest Kansas Storm stayed unbeaten with a 41 to 38 win over the Sioux City Bandits in a back-and-forth game that was featured on Scripps Sports Network. Sioux City led 35 to 21 after three quarters, but Southwest Kansas responded with 20 points in the fourth quarter including a touchdown with less than a minute to go. The Bandits had one final opportunity as time expired to extend the game into overtime. However, the kick missed left of the uprights and the Storm held on for the comeback and win.
The Pueblo Punishers defended home field with a 55 to 38 victory over the Louisiana Rouxgaroux, continuing to show why they remain one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the league. Pueblo built the lead early and kept control throughout the night, finishing with one of the highest point totals of the weekend.
The Colorado Spartans turned in their most decisive performance of the season with a 50 to 11 win over the Amarillo Warbirds. Colorado led 26 to 3 at halftime and never let Amarillo settle in, pulling away further in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
Teams including the Salina Liberty, Omaha Beef, and Dallas Bulls were idle during the week as part of the league schedule rotation.
As the season continues to take shape, close finishes and explosive offensive performances are continuing to define the 2026 NAL campaign.
