NATIONAL ARENA LEAGUE CONCLUDES LEAGUE MEETINGS, EXTENDS COMMISSIONER BRANDON IKARD THROUGH 2029

Hickory, NC - League leadership points to stability, revenue growth and long-term vision as NAL prepares for its 10th season

The National Arena League has officially concluded its 2026 League Meetings, bringing together league leadership and member organizations for discussions centered on the continued growth, stability and future direction of the NAL.

Among the most significant developments coming out of the meetings, the National Arena League announced that Commissioner Brandon Ikard has agreed to an extension that will keep him leading the league through the 2029 season.

The extension represents a continued commitment to the direction established under Ikard's leadership and provides long-term stability as the NAL prepares to enter its milestone 10th season in 2027.

Since taking over as Commissioner, Ikard has focused on strengthening the league's operational structure, developing new partnerships, creating additional revenue opportunities and establishing a more sustainable business model for the NAL and its member organizations.

One of the most significant developments during that time has been the creation and restructuring of league-level revenue-generating initiatives that, after just one year, have produced a financial return to NAL member teams.

That philosophy — creating value at the league level that directly benefits its member organizations — will remain a major focus moving forward.

"The goal has never been to simply operate another season," said Ikard. "The goal is to build something that our organizations can believe in, our partners want to be associated with and our fans are proud to support. We have made significant progress, but there is still a tremendous amount of work in front of us. I appreciate the confidence our ownership groups have shown in allowing me the opportunity to continue leading that process."

The 2026 League Meetings provided an opportunity for ownership and league leadership to evaluate the progress made over the past year while establishing priorities for the seasons ahead. Discussions included league operations, revenue development, strategic partnerships, media and broadcasting opportunities, organizational standards, fan engagement and the continued growth of the NAL brand.

The meetings also reinforced a common objective among the league's member organizations: building a stronger, more sustainable National Arena League.

With its leadership structure secured through 2029, the NAL can now continue implementing initiatives designed not simply for the upcoming season, but with a multi-year approach to growth.

As the league prepares to celebrate its 10 season of play in 2027, additional announcements surrounding partnerships, league initiatives and the upcoming season are expected in the weeks and months ahead.

"The conclusion of these meetings isn't the end of anything — it's really the beginning of our next phase," Ikard added. "There are a lot of things happening behind the scenes that we believe will continue moving this league forward. Now it's about taking what was discussed in these meetings and putting it into action."
